Laurence and JohnOur philosophy when designing beers is to find the right balance between staying true to beer style guidelines on one hand and experimenting with flavours to create exciting new taste experiences on the other hand. We serve directly from our tanks to the taps so our beer is the freshest experience you can have because after all, fresh beer is the best beer.

In an effort to produce a sustainable product with low carbon footprint we use New Zealand ingredients wherever possible.

However, certain beers require specialty yeasts or types of malt that are unavailable locally which we then source from abroad in order to create the desired style of beer.

The many and varied styles of beer, both ales and lagers, that we can design and create in our brewery is one of our main inspirations. We have a myriad of ideas for new beer creations, inspired by beers we've drank, by taste experiences we had, by talking to fellow craft beer enthusiasts and by studying flavour profiles and experimenting with potential new combinations. So many ideas, not enough hours in a day, or even more importantly, not enough fermentation tanks, as a brewer you can never have too many tanks!

Therefore, our beer selection consists of a number, usually 4-5, permanent beers and around 3-5 of our Tap Room Selection which we batch brew to bring seasonal or specialty beer variety to our taps for continued new beer experiences.
